2023 Wedding Trends

2023 Wedding Trends

Let’s be honest, 2022 is definitely going to be known as the year of the return of weddings post-pandemic. What will be the unique wedding trends of 2023? Since we're all playing catch-up on wedding trends, we've seen many personalized wedding styles emerge. Intimate affairs are becoming more popular, along with the importance of your guests and what role they play on your big day. And we’ve definitely noticed a difference in what type of gowns brides will go for! From separates to bold details, there’s a lot of fun to expect. Here’s our prediction on the wedding trends we expect will be popular in 2023!

Sustainable Weddings

As brides consider how their flowers can be used throughout their big day, sustainable wedding floristry is becoming increasingly popular. As flower arrangements for the top table, wedding bouquets might be popped in, or artificial flowers might replace live blooms. A sustainable menu may also be on the horizon for 2023. In 2023, couples will place a high priority on local and ethically sourced food, as well as ways to reduce waste.

Micro Weddings

An intimate micro wedding usually has fewer than 40 guests. Traditional elements can be included or the wedding can be completely unique. Micro weddings are designed to be more relaxed and centered around family and friends who are very close. When compared to a larger wedding, a smaller wedding allows the bride and groom to spend more time together and with guests. You can also spend more money per guest without cutting back on other costs since budgets are less stretched!

Jumpsuits & Separates

In 2020, women's bridal suits became increasingly popular. Since early 2020, bridal suits have been showcased by many models and fashion houses. Personalized wedding styles are taking center stage in 2023, with evening wear, non-white dresses, and jumpsuits taking center stage. Wedding day fashion is even becoming more comfortable for many men as the pressure of wearing a traditional tux has diminished!

Gowns With Bow Details

There was a mega-moment for bows in recent years, but this season's feminine details are more restrained, tailored and feel like they belong to Gwyneth Paltrow of the 1990s. A simple waist sash can be updated with gauzy materials or some bling, as well as sculptural train ties. We also love styles that feature bows on the sleeves like this one from Maggie Sottero:

Gowns Adorned in Pearls

Pearl wedding dresses have become increasingly popular this year, and this trend is predicted to continue into 2023. Pearl necklaces, earrings, and bracelets are prominent jewelry features on wedding dresses, from the veil to the shoes. Since their conception, they have been an elegant and timeless piece of wedding glamor!

Outdoor Weddings

Between 2020 and 2021, outdoor weddings were very popular, and this trend is only expected to continue. With the protection of a gazebo, an outdoor wedding offers a great deal of variety over an indoor wedding. For more photo opportunities, make sure the venue has a license and some cover. A venue with indoor and outdoor options might also be trendy in 2023, especially during the colder months.

Off-the-Shoulder Gowns With Sleeves

Wedding gown trends of 2022 include puff sleeves that make shoulders and collarbones appear dainty, and slim sleeves that start with a little volume and taper into a thin sleeve at the wrist. You don't want to miss this 2023 wedding dress trend!
