The Best Month for Weddings in New Hampshire

Our beautiful state of New Hampshire has it all, whether you're dreaming of a mountain or lakeside wedding, a bustling city or a rustic country setting. A large variety of wedding venues and vendors are available in NH for couples planning their weddings-and the incredible scenery is another plus. But when is the best time to get married in New Hampshire, anyway?

First of all, New Hampshire has long, cold winters and short, mild summers. Winter temperatures hover around 31 degrees in January, while summer temperatures average 82 degrees in July. If you're planning an outdoor wedding in the Granite State, indoor rain plans are a necessity if the weather is rainy or snowy!

Your best bets for holding some elements of your big day outside are late spring, summer, and early fall (think May-June or September). If the weather gods are on your side, a wedding can be scheduled in the late spring or late fall. The colder weather will likely require heaters and siding for your tent. Franconia, NH, for instance, experiences an average temperature of 40 degrees in November. Having a rain (or snow!) backup plan is a good idea.

Of course, you’ll need the perfect dress for your New Hampshire wedding!
